Basic Slot Strategy Guide
Here is a guide to teach you Basic Slot Strategy, and help you win at slot machines. The most important part of this gambling guide is in the last few paragraphs.
Gamblers often make the mistake of thinking that slots play involves just pure luck, and whilst it is true that luck is an essential part of successful slot play, there are several strategies that can maximise your bank roll and increase your chances of a big win.
Firstly, its important to understand the type of slots you are playing, whether it be a simple three reel or five reel slot, a progressive jackpot slot or one of the latest bonus slots , where certain combinations trigger a bonus round or free spins. Although each slot may have a similar payout ratio when looking at casino audit reports, they way they play is very different and you need to adjust your play accordingly.
The golden rule certainly with progressive jackpot slots is always to play the maximum coins, for example never bet just two credits when the jackpot is only payable if you play three credits. Sound like a no-brainer? Well, believe me gambling history is littered with players who said I only played one credits because I wanted to maximise my bank roll, I never thought I would ever hit the jackpot. Imagine missing out on a million bucks for the want of one extra coin!
With basic slots, without a progressive jackpot, it is not so essential that you play maximum bet, particularly when playing on a limited bank roll but even so it is better strategy. If you take a closer look at the pay tables on most slots, you will see that the payout table is loaded to give maximum coin play the advantage. To use an example, on a three coin slot you may find that the payout for 2 coins is say 20 credits, but the payout for 3 coins is not 30 credits as you would expect but 40 credits – which after just a few spins will give you a much higher potential return on your investment. If your bank roll is limited, a general rule of thumb is it is far better to bet max on a lower denomination machine than a coin or so, on a higher denomination machine. Over time, betting the maximum will always give a better % return on your money than playing just minimum bet.
Over the past few years, a new type of slot has appeared in online casinos – bonus slots offering free spins, multipliers, bonus games and even the choice of how many free spins you want and at which multiplier. Bonus slots certainly have a great deal of entertainment value, but in terms of strategy they are notoriously unpredictable and streaky. A good bonus round can net you several hundred – even several thousand dollars in just a few seconds, but conversely there can be very long gaps between winning streaks. Players often complain that bonus slots eat bank rolls very quickly and this can be true – but as a good win in a bonus round can net you several hundred times your stake, it is a risky yet attractive proposition.
Good strategy in bonus slots is to err on the side of caution. Don’t make the mistake of betting mid to large denominations in the hope of hitting a big bonus round, unless your bankroll can really take it - you will need a big bank roll in order to ride out the rough – and even then there is no guarantee of success. Of course you may hit a bonus round on your first spin – but you probably won’t. One thing I have found over years of online slot play is that an inverse relationship exists between the size of the bet and the generosity of the bonus round. Bonus rounds in smaller denominations have netted me several thousand dollar wins, whereas larger denomination bonus rounds tend to be meaner, hitting very little in the way of wins.
The last thing, the most important rule of slots strategy and one which applies to all forms of slot play, whether online or in a land based casino – set a limit and stick to it. It is very easy to get carried away chasing the progressive or chasing a bonus round but good slot players are always aware that lady luck is fickle. If a machine just isn’t paying, move on. When a machine that has been paying well stops paying, move on. Don’t chase losses or keep pumping a machine you have invested heavily in, full of money in the hope it will return your investment. It won’t. Trust me I did it lots of times in my early gambling career.
The last part is especially true! I've been there and done that! . Thanks to the source for the guide.

How to Gamble Responsibly
How to Gamble Responsibly
The subject of gambling is greatly argued in America. Gambling has unexpectedly become a great source of entertainment for people of all ages. Also Gambling has basically become a "sport" for those who are interested. Last, if done responsibly, gambling is harmless fun.
Problems in gambling can lead to financial ruin, legal problems, loss of career and family, or even suicide. In this case gambling for longer and longer periods of time is bad because it can lead to addiction or obsession to this sport. Also problems in gambling occur if a person has growing debt from gambling and doesn't know when to stop. In addition, lying about the extent of involvement in gambling is bad.
Gambling becomes a problem when the person is "chasing losses", or gambling more often to win back lost money. Also neglecting family or personal needs to gamble is an extremely immense problem. Furthermore,
having involvement in
illegal activities to finance gambling is terrible. Last, a case of
problems in gambling can also include gambling to escape daily pressures
and obligations, and absence from work or important social activities
to gamble.
Although if gambling is done responsibly and handled in the right way it is harmless fun. Some ways to gamble responsibly include; setting a budget and sticking to it, setting a time limit, and taking frequent breaks. In addition, gambling for entertainment and not as a way to make money. Also, knowing that the house always has the advantage and that you are really just paying to have fun helps.
Another way for
responsible gambling is to not chase losses, accept them as the cost of
entertainment. Last is to balance gambling with other leisurely
activities, not borrowing money to gamble, and only using discretionary
income, not money for everyday expenses.
The Negative Effects of Gambling
Gambling has effected many people I know
in a negative way and the problem is getting increasingly more serious
due to the large amount of young adults who are starting to gamble.
Teenagers often face routine warnings about drugs and alcohol but Not
about gambling.
Gambling is highly addictive, and compulsive gamblers have the same symptoms an alcoholic or a person addicted to drugs would have with their addiction , when someone is addicted to gambling they have a brain disease that is chemically and genetically driven, just as addictive as cocaine in certain individuals. The same way a drug addict needs to take drugs in order to maintain a high, a gambler has to gamble in order to experience the high of winning. Every state except three permit gaming and state governments actually encourage their citizens to gamble because its an easy way for them collect tax free money.
You are considered a compulsive gambler if you have done 5 out of the 9 following criteria:

Recently gambling has become an even bigger problem in America with more and more younger adults starting to gamble especially among college students, over 50% of the estimated compulsive gamblers are between the ages of 16-24. a main cause of for this has been Internet gambling as you only have to be 18 years old to make sports bets on various web sites. Also poker has become increasingly popular with young adults and web sites like partypoker.com are increasingly used by young adults. *Statistics prove that teen-age Internet
gambling is the fastest
growing addiction in American today and this is clearly a problem
because the young kids who are rapidly starting to gamble today could
eventually become compulsive gamblers. Also in many casinos you only
have to be are 18 year olds to gamble, such as at turning stones in
upstate New York.
There are many ways in which you could gamble especiallly with technology constantly changing. There are Lotteries, scratchoffs, casinos, horse-racing, sports bets, the internet. All can get very addictive.
These are scratch offs and they are one of the most common form of gambling, usually when you get gas you see people buy one. they also can become highly addictive especially
for younger people. Ive seen people spend hundreds on these.
Gambling can really mess up your life I personally have won a thousand dollars in a given night and lost it the next day and I know a lot of friends who are 100,000 dollars in debt right because they cannot
help themselves. Gambling can lead to divorce, poor health, unemployment, bankruptcy, and suicide. Gambling is a serious problem and should not be overlooked especially with the increasing number of young people who are starting to gambling.

Gambling Affecting Community
Gambling Affecting Community
Gambling affecting the community, by people that has a habit of doing things. Gambling can be a good thing and also can be a very bad thing. Especially, towards your family, gambling is a major problem. I know people that go inside casinos and loose their whole check.
That's bad, because now do not no money to feed your family, or any benefits towards them. Majority of the time it if men that has a gambling problem. With women it is unconstantly with them because they no how to stop. I think the problem be the alcohol in gambling spots be the problem with gambling habits.
Because when you are drunk you do nowwhere are you sometimes. Some people cannot control the alcohol in their system. When you are drunk you just do things just to be during it. Also, gambling can affect many people independence towards themselves, and others.
Gambling can take a man motivation away from him. Because when a man looses all of his money he feels like nothing to the world. Gambling can also, cause death towards people, in the community. For instance, like dice game in the hood you stay at. People are getting killed over five dollars dice game where I stay. Also, one another be staying in the same neighborhood that be killing each other.
That's my belief on gambling affecting the community. Like I said in the above gambling can be a good thing or a bad thing for people. Especially, if they are winning then it want be any problems. Thus, if you are losing you need to think about your family you have to go home to.
Compulsive Gambling and It's Cost to the Economy
Compulsive Gambling and
It's Cost to the Economy
More than 5 million Americans are pathological, compulsive and problem gamblers, and another 15 million are at risk of becoming just like them. A common definition of problem gambling is: a progressive disorder characterized by a continuous or periodic loss of control over gambling and irrational thinking and behavior despite the consequences. When gambling interferes with any one's life, it can be categorize as an addiction or disease, just like alcohol and drug addiction is categorize as a disease.
A study conducted for the National Gambling Impact Study Commission found that 20 million American have or could develop gambling problems. Also they have estimated those 1.8 million American adults as well as up to 1.1 million American adolescents age 12 through 17 engage in severe "pathological" gambling each year. As legalize gambling has become more common in the United States; problems have sprung up as well. That negative influence is becoming more apparent as gambling is more widely available. It is becoming increasingly easy to gamble in the United States particularly in the last 10 years, and problems with gambling are much more common now than they ever were. Studies show that for every dollar gambling produces for a regional economy, three dollars are lost because of the economic and social cost of gambling. The study has also said that if the government legalizes more gambling, taxpayers will lose money, whether they gamble or not.
